when I'm opening an entry out of the LastPass-app it opens the website in Safari. My standard browser on my Mac is Firefox. Is there any way to tell LastPass to use my standard browser? Also for e.g. opening the help page out of LastPass ...Thanks in advance
Sorry for any frustration. Safari is the default web browser that is used when launching site entries via the LastPass Mac desktop app, and this default setting cannot currently be changed to allow use of another default web browser, although you can install the LastPass browser extension for any other browsers you use so you still have access to your Vault in any browser. I've passed your feedback along to our developers about allowing the Mac app to instead use the system default browser instead for consideration in future updates to LastPass as well.
The generator worked perfectly in my tests. I tested it by signing up for several new online accounts and using it to generate each new password. During each signup, I just had to click on the LastPass logo in the password field (or open the extension and click on the generator), and LastPass would generate a complex password. The default password length is 12, but you can generate passwords up to 99 characters long. The passwords can contain uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
When I installed the browser extension, I was immediately taken to the web vault. You can also download desktop apps for Windows (from the Microsoft Store) and Mac, but I found it much more convenient to use the web vault. Plus, when you use the web vault, you can access all of your passwords from any computer.
My issues was that I attempted to install Lastpass via the Mac App Store (it has a 2.6/5 rating for a reason). After installing it, it did not prompt me to install the Safari extension. Uninstalling it and installing the direct download from LastPass worked for me.
I was having an issue with Last Pass and LogMeIn support told me to delete and reinstall LastPass - now the extension is no longer a part of Safari and I have followed all of the suggestions including downloading from the last pass website - when I open it the first time it tells me that the extension is needed and I click on open safari and nothing happens. I am running macOS Catalina v 10.15.7 and LastPass version 4.4.0
